DIEGO ROSAS URQUIZA
Orchestra ConductorFONCA fellowship program (National Fund for Culture and the Arts) in the Interpreters (2004) and Cultural Co-Investments (2008) programs in addition to the National Artistic Education Program of the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA-2003).
He studied Orchestra Conducting at the Music School of the Ollín Yoliztli Cultural Center and the National Center for the Arts, as well as violin at the National Conservatory of Music. He obtained a degree in Music from the Institute of Arts of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo, he obtained a Master's degree in Education from the Technological University of Mexico and is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Musical Direction at the University Tito Puente, Puebla.
He has been a disciple in chairs and master classes of great and prominent personalities in the field of orchestral conducting such as: Jorma Paula, Gustav Meier, Jorge Mester, Pierre Boulez, Peter Gülke, Francisco Savín, Fernando Lozano, Eduardo Diazmuñóz, Enrique Diemecke, Eduardo S. Zúber, Enrique Bátiz, Iván del Prado, Sergio Cárdenas, Juan Carlos Lomónaco and Gonzalo Romeu, in Mexico; Dominican Republic; Amsterdam, Holland; Fullerton University in California, Carnegie Hall in New York (USA) and the Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg, Austria.
He was director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Conservatory of Music of the State of Mexico (2008-2011), of the Youth Orchestra “Gustavo A. Madero” at Mexico City (1995 -98) and has participated as guest conductor at the front of the orchestras: Philharmonic of Sonora (XXXVIII Forum of New Music “Manuel Enriquez”), Symphony of the Autonomous University of the State of Tamaulipas, Symphony of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo, Chamber strings Orchestra of the National Preparatory School of the UNAM, Chamber Strings Orchestra of the National Conservatory, Symphony "Carlos Chávez", Youth Symphony of the Dominican Republic, Symphony of the Music School of the Cultural Center "Ollín Yolliztli", Symphony "José Pablo Moncayo ”, Symphony of Coyoacán, as well as the choral assemblies of the National Conservatory and Choir “Bancomext”. Similarly, he has participated as a violinist in different concerts with various ensembles in Mexico, Spain, the United States, Central America, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Peru.
In his training as a violinist, he was a disciple of teachers such as Boris Klepov, Archil Katzarava, Enrique Espín Yépez, Fernando Cortés and Omar Barrientos. Likewise, he actively participated in the Seminar for String Quartets with the Latin American Quartet at National Center of the Arts. In the same way, he was a student of musical theory of the teachers Ana Lara, Jorge Ritter, Armando Luna, Guillermo Noriega, among others.
From May 2017 to April 2019, he was Coordinator of the Children's and Youth Symphony Orchestras Program of the Institute of Culture of Guanajuato State, where he also participated as deputy musical director of the Instructors Orchestra. Similarly, he directs the Camerata Concertante de México.
He is currently director of the Children's and Youth Orchestra of the Center for the Arts of the State of Hidalgo and professor of the Chamber Music class of the School of Music of the State of Hidalgo (2022).
